It is hardly a movie that you'll watch more than once. This conflict lasted through the reigns of three Tang emperors before ending in 763 with the fall of the Yan Dynasty that An Lushan had created. I will say that Davy Williams (playing Tony) and June Lee (playing Reika) were actually the two most outstanding performers in the movie. The acting in the movie was adequate, that definitely was one of the stronger sides to "Chinese Speaking Vampires". Things that took place in the storyline were so far out there and ludicrous, that I didn't know if I was supposed to take it as a spoof or actually take it seriously. Only a very few, such as Vampire Combat (2001), Tsui Hark's Vampire. Which made for a somewhat odd movie experience. Drawing on several aspects of Chinese folklore, the films featured what have come to. But "Chinese Speaking Vampires" just never fully transcended into that area. The storyline in this movie was just so far out there, and it definitely had potential to be one of those movies so bad they become enjoyable and fun to watch. So if that is the case, and "Chinese Speaking Vampires" is supposed to be a full-blown serious movie, then director Randy Kent definitely had his hands full. Sure, there were the odd funny moment here and there throughout the course of the movie, but it didn't feel like this was supposed to be a funny movie. were, loved by the Peri, who kissed their wounds during the combat but the old men saw.
